There have been a lot of coyote sightings recently around Chicago but we haven't heard of any in Andersonville until now. One of our readers wrote in...
Heads up – there are coyotes in the hood! I was just walking my dog, and one came after us. I called 311 and they said they've had a lot of reports of them. We were on Catalpa, between Clark and Glenwood.
Back in December a pack of three coyotes went after a woman and her two dogs in Lincoln Park. Keep an eye out, especially folks with dogs, and if you see anything do what our reader did and call 311 to let the city know.

I’ve seen one recently as he was crossing Clark @Ainslie. Looked like he was going into St. Boniface cemetery. They are quite an impressive sight
Not sure why I should call 311? What do you expect 311 to do?

311 will route you to Animal Control.

Last night there were a few slow-moving cop cars between Balmoral and Ainslie up and down clark, and clearly they were looking for something. Any connection? Or anyone know what is up?

We need more Coyotes and less squirrels.

I was just walking my dog on Berwyn approaching Winthrop when a coyote came running down Winthrop. A cop was trailing it slowly. I agree, to many squirrels around here making my dog go nuts.

Everyblock.org also posted that on Friday night (Jan.27?28?) a coyote was seen at Bryn Mawr & Magnolia at 9 pm.
