Las Manos has two shows coming up in February. The first is a fundraiser for North Korean refugees and will feature the work of artist and activist Young Sun Han.
When the artist's father passed away in November 2010, Young Sun Han was left with hundreds of cell phone photos that documented his father's battle with cancer. About six months later, Han began to assemble an intimate book with these images, recently published under the title, sooner later. The book portrays his family’s daily struggles and efforts to combat the disease.
His book, sooner later, will be available for purchase along with limited-edition prints and posters during the opening reception on Saturday, February 4th from 6-10pm. Half of the proceeds benefit the organization Life Funds for North Korean Refugees. The show runs through Sunday, February 12th. Click here for more info on the show and his work.
On Friday, February 17th Photography in Color opens featuring the work of Patrick Manning, Young Sun Han, Antonio Martinez, Lara Dorsett, Michael McGuire, Mark Pease, Mieke Zuiderweg, Paul Clark, Juan Fernandez, and Sloan Tomlinson.
